We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Specialist – Mechanical, to support the Shutdown/Fixed Plant Superintendent to ensure the safe and timely achievement of all shutdown works within the Budgeted time frame for the Cadia Valley fixed plant concentrator.
Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture utilising the Newcrest Safety Transformation plan to ensure operational, safety, and quality outcomes are achieved.
Working closely with the improvement team, you will be tasked to identify opportunities for improvement within each principal contractor area and create an environment where everyone is empowered to manage change.
Specific accountabilities will include:
- Scheduling work to achieve the required work output of the team
- Managing and mentoring employees and Supervisors in their day-to-day performance
- Leading work groups to ensure that set priorities and targets are being achieved
- Ensuring that all changes within the Shutdown maint strategy are communicated
- Ensuring all incidents are managed with site Incident management procedure and appropriate critical controls are in place to prevent a reoccurrence
- Understanding and complying with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements for the safe operation of the ore handling systems both UG/Surface
This is a permanent position based at Cadia, Orange NSW with a roster of 5/2.
Cadia Valley Operations (CVO) is located in central western New South Wales approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange. To succeed in this role, you will have supervisory management experience with the ability and drive to supervise a maintenance work group in a technically challenging environment. With a Strong work ethic you will assist in the establishment of a positive culture, which enhances team function and encompasses the safe operation and performance of the Cadia Valley Fixed plant operations.
