Emergency Services Officer - Telfer Mine WA - Permanent FIFO Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Emergency Services Officers to join our high performing close knit Emergency Services team, at our Telfer Mine site in WA. Your key accountabilities will be providing Emergency Response Services and leading the Emergency Response process at Telfer to ensure that any emergency involving the Telfer Operations is managed in an efficient and effective manner whilst reducing the risk of injuries or harm to personnel, the environment and company assets.

The FIFO roster for this role is 8 days on / 6 days off and working with other ESO's on site, and reporting to the Superintendent - Health and Emergency Services. 



Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance. Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel and DVD players, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, and sporting and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have proven operational experience in the pre-hospital care field and mine site emergency response and rescue. You will have sound awareness of operational safety issues and an excellent personal safety record coupled with highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. You'll also meet the below criteria:

  • You will be customer focused with the ability to cooperatively interact with stakeholders across all areas of the business.
  • A Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue and a Certificate IV in Health Care – Ambulance are pre-requisites for this role.
  • A Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing and/or a Certificate II in Security Management will be highly regarded.
  • Great sense of urgency and ability to remain claim in high pressure environments.
  • A track record of strong compliance with policies, standards and industry requirements.
