HR Advisor - 12 Month Parental Leave Contract

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join our on-site FIFO HR team based at the Telfer mine in WA, for the next 12 months. Reporting to the HR Specialist and working in a close-knit team, you will provide advice and delivery of generalist HR activities to all employees. With a strong emphasis on coaching, mentoring and case management, you will partner with people leaders to embed a high-performance culture. Additionally, this opportunity involves support with workforce and development planning, talent management and some transactional HR processes.  

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in building strong working relationships and demonstrate an ability to adapt to and support the various changes that often occur within the environment. You will also assist in the delivery of planned culture initiatives to sustainably improve organisational health index.

The current roster for this role is 8 days on, 6 days off (6am – 6pm) but be flexible and willing to work 4 days on, 3 days off (6am – 6pm) as and when required by the business.

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance.  Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel and DVD players, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sporting and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days.

 

About You

As an experienced HR practitioner, you will be degree qualified in HR or have a HR Advanced Diploma. Your flexible and collaborative approach to HR and the business will allow you to best deliver key people outcomes, in an operations landscape. Experience within a similar mine environment or engineering/construction would allow you to effectively support the enterprise nature of the role. You will be a self-starter, who is resourceful and able to work autonomously to manage a busy workload. Being a FIFO opportunity, this role will involve 12-hour shifts, so the ability to operate in those conditions will be key to delivering successful HR practices. Your passion for case management, building strong working relationships and providing agile support will present a rewarding opportunity for you at Newcrest.
