Who we’re looking for
We are currently seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to join us at our Cadia Valley Operations as an Asset Operations Centre Technician. You will be working on a rotating roster 7 days, 7 nights.
The Site Asset Operations Centre (SAOC) is a consolidated Control Centre for all operational areas including Underground Mining, Underground Development, Underground Crushing and Materials Handling, Surface Materials Movements, and two large Concentrator Plants.
You will be responsible for the operation of a specific control room function within the SAOC ensuring the highest-level of service delivery to safely achieve production targets. You will be part of a large team rotating through different control functions gaining exposure to various areas of the Control Centre.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Be a key part in a collaborative safe working culture.
- Identifying and implementing solutions to problems no matter how small.
- Working closely with Shift Supervisors of the respective area and providing them with timely and accurate information.
- Highlighting issues that arise and follow escalation procedures to achieve resolution.
- Monitoring of alarms and emergency call receiver management.
Skills and Experience Required
You are a collaborative, customer service focused Control Room Operator with field experience in Ore Processing. In additional to this you will ideally have:
- DCS (Yokagawa), Citect, or similar operating interface experience
- Intermediate IT / computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
