Logistics Sales and Marketing Officer

Join our innovative Marketing and Logistics team based at our Melbourne Headquarters as a critical support to the broader operations. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will act as Newcrest's interface with minerals customers and ensures the successful coordination of supply from our mines to international markets.
You will have line responsibility for executing all shipments to customers. As a key member of the small Marketing team, this role is ideal for someone who likes to work autonomously and is highly organised.

You will be accountable for debtor and creditor management, maintenance of Newcrest's copper concentrate database, and cash flow forecasting activities.

Who we’re looking for

With a strong emphasis on our copper concentrate shipments to Asia, you will work in a small but highly cohesive team to meet accuracy, efficiency, and cost KPI’s. Your customer centric approach and ability to easily communicate will support your success in this opportunity. Chinese and/or Spanish language skills would be advantageous. You will be building and managing day to day relationships with customers, shipping brokers and vessel owners as well as various internal stakeholders. You will ideally have experience in the resources or a related primary industry and hold relevant tertiary qualifications as well as a good understanding of sales contracts.

In addition to the above key skills, you will also have exposure in: 

  • Experience liaising with Trades Finance Banks
  • A high degree of understanding of Letter of Credit procedures and export documentation requirements
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Systems experience including SAP and Mineman
  • Experience with lay times calculation
