Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers.

 

 Who we’re looking for

The Mine Training Coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient creation, deployment and maintenance of training systems in the Mine Operations, Technical Services, Mobile Maintenance, and TIA departments. This role is also responsible for the leadership and management of the Mine Training Team consisting of two Mine Equipment Trainers and a Mobile Maintenance Trainer. 

Qualifications & Required Technical Skills

  • Graduate degree in a related field (Education/Mining) is desirable

  • High School Graduate

  • Class 5 Driver’s License

  • 10 years experience working in a mining environment

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a training role

  • Valid Open Pit Shift Boss ticket

  • Blasting ticket is desirable

  • Delta V DCS

  • Strong Computer Skills – Microsoft Office / SAP / DATS

  • E-Learning Software – Articulate 360, Captivate

  • Presentation Skills – Group Speaking – 30 people or more

  • Technical Writing (procedures / standards)

Required Knowledge and Experience

You will have an advanced understanding of the Health, Safety and Reclamation Codes for Mines in BC, and experience with all aspects of Open Pit mining from a technical and equipment standpoint.  Advanced understanding of drills, loaders, shovels, graders and haul trucks is a must, and experience with dispatch systems such as Minestar is beneficial.  Advanced understanding of Competency Assessment and experience with Learning Management Systems and e-Learning development are expected.
