Join our on-site FIFO HR team and lead two HR Advisors based at the Telfer mine in WA. Working in a small close-knit and collaborative team, you will provide key leadership and guidance to support the efficient and cost-effective management of Telfer’s Human Resources activities in accordance with site employee/leader needs, legislative requirements and, HR Group objectives.

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance.  Permanent rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers with healthy food options, medical care, sports and recreation activities.


Who we’re looking for

As a true senior HR partner, you will provide engaging leadership and expertise to your direct team and other Newcrest stakeholders, who require your guidance on people related activities. Your leader, who manages the People, Safety and Risk division, will provide you the autonomy to make a real impact, build key relationships and support various cyclical activities in a fast paced environment.  The opportunity has a balanced mix of annual HR employee activity, generalist tasks and change management as well as stakeholder engagement and partnership around key projects and initiatives. As the pivotal contact for all people related matters, this role plays an important part of shaping Newcrest’s future and bringing employees along on that journey.


We are looking for a flexible and adaptable HR Lead/Manager to mentor, coach and partner with people leaders on site. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be approachable in your style and enjoy working autonomously and as part of a small high performing team.


In addition to the above key skills, the below experience will set you up for success:  

  • HR Degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience within a similar mining, engineering/construction, oil & gas or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP and Success Factors or similar systems
  • Understanding of the FIFO lifestyle and conditions as well as ability to work autonomously in a remote area
  • C Class Manual License is essential
