The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated farm-in and potential joint venture with Greatland Gold. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest’s 100%-owned Telfer mine.
We are seeking an HSEC Lead to assist in the development and management of strategic Health and Safety framework for world class safety performance for the Havieron Project.
You will play a key role in the Havieron Project Team and its success with both internal and external stakeholders, and contractors in order to safely and efficiently deliver the exploration decline to meet the requirements of the Havieron business plan.
Reporting directly to the Early Works Manager, you will be responsible for:
Conducting Visible Felt Leadership interactions, System Verifications and Field Critical Control Checks
Leading investigation and appraisal of site related incidents and identifying remedial actions to reduce H&S risk and ensuring the close out of safety incidents and actions
Developing and implementing both safety system level and hazard level standards, procedures and supporting materials
Developing monthly team Safety KPI’s to drive accountability and reward achievement
Implementing SHE audits across the Havieron Project, capturing trends and communicating lessons
Managing the H&S risk management process and set-up of specific High-Risk Work activities
Managing the safety initiatives across the project within the program coordinating reviews and ensuring recommendations are progressed, tracked and closed out
This is a permanent position that will work on a FIFO (8/6) roster. Point of Hire is Perth.
To succeed in this role, you will have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Safety Management, Engineering or related technical field, with experience in a Health and Safety environment in a mine site management role. Furthermore, you will bring an impeccable approach to safety and a passion for coaching and mentoring your staff.

The ability to promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSEC
A willingness to lead by example by actively promoting proactive safety behaviors
Construction, management and/or relevant industry experience
Demonstrated ability to lead change and produce results
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
