Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers.


Reporting to the Tailings Dam Construction Engineer, the Tailings Dam Lab Technician will be involved in the construction, maintenance and surveillance of the projects 30,000 mtpd tailings impoundment facilities and associated water management systems, working closely with the Operations and Environmental teams, as well as the Engineer of Record.


Who we’re looking for

We are seeking someone who has a minimum of 2-3 years industry experience, preferably mining or heavy civil earthworks construction.  Experience with geotechnical materials sampling, field and lab quality control testing methods.  QA/QC experience on large earthworks project and demonstrate knowledge of geotechnical materials testing and mineral processing.


In addition to the above, we are looking for someone that has the following; 

  • Mining Technology Diploma or similar combination of experience/training required
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with 3D modeling software such as MineSight or AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SAP, MS Office, SharePoint, MS access skills would be desirable

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements

  • A team player that works well with others

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Has a valid class 5 driver’s license
