We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Finance Team at Red Chris Mine to assist in supporting the commercial and financial analysis for business improvement. This role is based at our Vancouver office.


Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and guiding the team to deliver agreed departmental and business goals to ensure the value of the business is maintained or improved. Reporting to the Superintendent – Finance, duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and specification
  • Ensuring work is commenced and completed in the agreed timeframe
  • Supporting commercial and financial analysis for business improvement and transformational activities
  • Assisting with all month end activities, internal/external financial audit including their rectification actions relating to Accounting Stewardship Review
  • Gathering government related performance data for industry reporting
  • Managing the mobile phone process
  • Resolving bank clearing, accounts payable and payroll exception from Shared Services
  • Supporting the process of identifying technical accounting issues related to new contracts
  • Supporting the Project Controls Systems
  • Managing the monthly cashflow process
  • Managing the mobile phone process
  • Assisting with the forecasting and budgeting process
  • Assisting with the quarterly JV cash call process
  • Identifying, proposing, and tracking improvement opportunities and projects that are to aligned business priorities, scoped, resourced, and executed
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Business, Finance, Commerce Degree or MBA
  • CPA (preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years accounting/finance experience (Mining Industry preferred)
  • Commercially astute, with strong comprehension of financial control requirements, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience assessing control efficacy in the end-to-end finance function, with a demonstrated ability to build and implement control plans to address control gaps (preferred)
  • SAP experience (preferred)
