In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising open pits, processing plant and an underground mine. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.
Who we’re looking for:
We are searching for a Technology – Supervisor to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of IT and OT systems at Telfer. This role will see you overseeing the team responsible for these systems and driving continuous improvement within a safe and collaborative work environment.
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, flying on Tuesdays.
Key responsibilities:
Provide supervision to the IT & OT team to implement and maintain the Information Technology and Operational Technology systems at Telfer
Oversee and direct Root Cause Analysis, process improvement, and post-incident investigations.
Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of IT/OT systems against physical and cyber threats.
Execute routine preventative maintenance, checks, audits, and calibrations for technology systems.
Manage technology systems including embedded operating systems, server and desktop administration, and disaster recovery.
Provide Level 3 technical support and coordinate with internal and external support teams.
Offer technical guidance on integrating new systems with existing infrastructure.
Identify and implement improvement projects.
Assist project teams with technology delivery as assigned
Promote a positive team and collaborative team environment
Create and maintain a safe work culture
About you:
To be successful in this role we are searching for Technology professional with a robust background in both Information Technology and Operational Technology in production environments. You will possess excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Experience:
a 24x7x365 manufacturing or heavy industry operation.
site specific production systems such as MOTOTRBO Digital Radio systems, Modular Mining Dispatch systems, Wabtec Collision Avoidance Systems, Cat Driver Safety Systems, Flir or Milestone CCTV systems, Symantec, Acronis backup systems
Cisco network design, deployment, and troubleshooting
Troubleshooting both connectivity issues and hardware problems on Cisco based networks
Routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP, MPLS/VPN
Using tools like Sniffer, Ethereal, and TCP dump for network analysis and capacity planning
Design, implementation, and administration of Active Directory
Maintenance and administration of AD 2016, Microsoft 365 Exchange, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, VMWare vSphere 7.0 IT/OT infrastructure facilities in enterprise environment
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent 5 years of experience.
Industry certifications in networking, system administration, and disaster recovery.
Comprehensive knowledge of IP data communications, wireless network administration, Windows, Linux, embedded systems, SQL database management, and backup/disaster recovery best practices.
Proficiency in configuration of VLAN setup on various Cisco routers and switches
Update and maintain site technical standards
Manual Australian driver’s license (Essential)
