Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Qualified Scaffolder with a competitive hourly rate of $50.13. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Purpose of the Role

Assist the site maintenance and services team in completing diverse maintenance projects both on-site and in the camp.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary function is to erect/dismantle scaffolding across site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes and WorkSafe BC minimum requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Supervise and support apprentices.
  • Work with the Planning group to build shut down labor requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in resourcefulness and innovation.
  • A team player that works well with others.
  • Other duties as required.

About You

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Qualified Scaffolding certification with minimum intermediate level.
  • Carpentry experience considered and asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Class 5 drivers License is required
  • Experience working 15x13 rotation in a remote site.
  • Operate light equipment including but not limited to telehandler, manlift, and skid Steer.
  • Rigging and craning experience.
  • Experience managing a Scaffolding log
  • Ability to build to CSA and BC regulation standards
  • Ability to scope jobs and perform material take offs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • SAP experience is an asset
