Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Surveyor with a competitive base salary between $86,025.00 - $93,000.00 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In, Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to supply survey support the mine operations team, markup ore contacts, layout blast holes, prepare daily maps, reports and be a player in the communication between mine ops and mine technical services.
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Accountabilities
Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe working environment
Contribute towards improving working operations and safety
Using instruments, take readings to determine specified locations
Conduct surveys to obtain data used in planning mining operations
Draft maps, drawings and create a database of survey data including development layouts, production drill mark-ups and miscellaneous layouts
Update relevant maps, drawings and databases with any amended information.
Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted in the field and field redesign as necessary
Maintain daily markup of all contacts and blast patterns in the pits
Assist with special project proposals, design layout and pick-up of drill/blast and digging areas
Effective communication of plans, providing appropriate instructions to designated team
Effectively liaise and communicate and maintain a good relationship with team members, contractor/suppliers and other stakeholders as required
Maintain accurate data/records/documentation

Qualifications
Grade 12 Diploma required.
Working knowledge of Minesite 3D considered a strong asset
Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office is preferred
Basic or advanced drone Licence is preferred and considered a strong asset
Survey drone experience considered an asset
Post-Secondary education in Survey related fields preferred
Experience in mining operations is an asset
Experience in heavy construction (earthworks) and/or open pit mining is preferred.
Valid driver’s license required
A team player that works well with others
Strong oral and written communication skills
