Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor - Mobile Mtce Production with a competitive base salary between  $109,650 -$129,000 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills and competencies with consideration to internal equity. 

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.  

 

 

Purpose of the Role

The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the Mobile Maintenance team to ensure all work is carried out in a safe, structured, agreed and timely manner. Ensure absolute compliance with legal requirement, Newmont standards, and provide support to develop, coach and mentor team members to continuously improve their knowledge, skills and relationship interactions. Responsibility for
identifying, escalating and managing impediments and developing issues to ensure delivery of work plans are achieved. Responsibility for enabling value and developing the leadership and technical competencies of the work teams, driving safety behaviors and attitudes.

Accountabilities

Safety, Health & Housekeeping

Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe and healthy working environment:

  • Supporting the Safety Management System, ensuring a safety-first work culture; applying site safety standards, procedures and policies
  • Participating in site safety initiatives, pre-start meeting, CCV, and incident investigation
  • Ensuring adequate pro-active monitoring to maintain a safe work environment
  • Instilling a culture of recognising hazards and minimising risk and consequential harm to employees
  • Supporting investigation when work is stopped due to an unsafe act or condition, ensuring actions to mitigate the risk are implemented
  • Taking a proactive risk management approach to departmental tasks, i.e., recognise, analyse, respond to ensure risks are at an acceptable level; ensuring that prior to work commencing an effective risk assessment and controls are in place and understood
  • Maintaining a clean workplace, completing housekeeping tasks prior to the completion of the daily shifts
  • Ensuring team members are authorised, qualified and competent to undertake the task/s; do not allow an inexperienced person to undertake tasks unsupervised
  • Ensuring standard work procedures and safe systems of work are understood; enforcing compliance
  • Ensuring personnel are adequately trained to safely complete work requirements; verifying work instructions are clear
  • Leading daily pre-start meeting, identifying more critical activities, and critical control must be on place, and schedule and execute CCVs .

Maintenance Business Process (MBP)

Demonstrate commitment alignment to Newmont Maintenance Business Process:

  • Directly responsible for associated work in the following Main Work Centre
    • RCMSFL – RC Mobile Fleet Welder
  • Reviewal and timely actioning of all corrective Work Notifications (WN)
  • Assistance in basic scoping of corrective tasks
  • Attendance and active participation of Draft Schedule and Schedule Confirmation meetings
  • Ownership of and responsibility for maintenance schedules (developed by the Maintenance Scheduler), ensuring compliance and prioritisation of planned work
  • Management of all scheduled Corrective and PM work within the given scheduled week
  • Management of all breakdown work in responsible area
  • Assignment of all work to responsible work team
  • Ensuring closure of all completed work orders in a timely manner, ensuring all relevant information
  • has been captured and kept on the work order
  • Ensure compliance of team to time confirmations on work orders
  • Timely re-distribution of work to appropriate roles if requiring Replanning or Rescheduling, ensuring
  • reasoning and recommendations moving forward
  • Enter sub-sequent notification after executing PM or break-in work orders
  • Timely management of responsible Activity Report (AR) Notifications
  • Attendance and active participation of KPI reviewal meetings
  • Identifying and proposing improvement opportunities and projects that are to aligned business
  • priorities, scoped, resourced and executed
  • Actively driving adherence and governance to the NMBP
  • Mentorship of the wider maintenance group in the NMBP

About You  

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:   

  • Trade certificate or experience in lieu of.
  • BC Mine supervisor Ticket required (required)
  • 2 to 3 years experience in either lead hand or supervision role.
  • Good computer skills, knowledge of SAP an asset.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Rotational camp experience an asset.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar haul trucks, dozers, graders, Hitachi and Komatsu hydraulic excavators and shovels, P&H 2800XPB shovel and Sandvik drills
