Telfer Operations
In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising open pits, processing plant and an underground mine. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.
The Role
We are currently seeking multiple experienced Laboratory- Technicians to assist with Sample Preparation at our Telfer Operations. As a Sample Preparer in the lab, you will operate machinery to crush, split, and pulverize mineral samples for laboratory analysis.
Please note this role is site based and is 8 Days on 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 nights off FIFO from Perth. Flying on Thursdays
Daily responsibilities include:
Handling of rock, core and drill chips
Operating sample preparation equipment – crushers, pulverizes, splitters, filter presses and weigh scales
Performing routine manual/labouring tasks, including lifting and being on your feet all-day
Numerical sorting and labelling of samples
Deliver accurate assay results in alignment with the Ore Processing, Geology, and Metallurgy departments’ analytical quality and turnaround time requirements.
Ensure compliance with all requirements at the Telfer Assay Laboratory.
Foster a safe, healthy working environment by adhering to all safety and environmental standards
About You
We are searching for an individual who is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong background in warehouse operations, other requirements include:
Previous exposure to mining or other related industries
Valid driver’s license- C class
Forklift ticket or willingness to obtain one.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience and good knowledge of sample preparation techniques.
