We have an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent Approvals to join our Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility (HSESR) team based at Cadia, near Orange in central west NSW. You will be responsible for delivering regulatory approvals in a timely manner for new projects and activities. A key aspect of the role is liaising between projects teams, operational teams, and site based management to ensure that clear and concise information is developed, to facilitate the regulatory approvals process. You will also play a key leadership role in implementing the Cadia Water Strategy to ensure optimum efficiency of water use on site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement, and track site governance plan for regulatory approvals
- Develop and coordinate strategic plans for individual project applications
- Effective liaison with operational technical, environmental, safety and community relations teams to deliver successful strategic plans
- Manage external specialist teams related to project applications
- Maintenance and tracking of mining lease compliance requirements
- Oversee the site water balance and develop management controls to deliver long-term sustainability
- Visibly role model safe and operationally disciplined leadership
The current roster for this role 5 days/2 off.
Cadia Valley Operations is located in central western New South Wales approximately 25kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange. To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy working with a range of stakeholders to achieve key business approvals. With Tertiary qualifications in environmental planning or related discipline and at least 5 years’ experience in obtaining planning approvals or closely related work area you will be recognised for being highly organised, your stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills. In addition, your understanding of the NSW and Commonwealth planning, mining and environmental legislation will assist you to navigate complex negotiation processes.
