The Red Chris Travel team is now recruiting for the position of Travel Coordinator with a competitive base salary between $76,000.00 – $93,000 per year. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity.
We are seeking an individual for a full-time Monday to Friday, remote position, with occasional travel to site as needed.
Purpose of the Role
The Travel Coordinator is a valuable member of the Red Chris Travel Team working closely with the Camp Services Team on the safe and efficient transportation of all those travelling to and from site. This position will support the increasing demand on safe travel to and from site and any commercial requirements. Travel coordination includes all Ground and Air movements, including accommodations and support vehicles.
Accountabilities
Coordinate travel including, but not limited to, chartered flights, coach bus, pilot and light vehicles, car hires etc. as required
Be responsible for making the final decision on travel operations, including diversions, re-routes and arrangements for those affected by any disruptions
Serve as a general resource and point of contact for travel related questions, issues, or concerns
Liaise with our chartered airline on last minute passengers’ changes, to ensure no delays at check-in, or the overbooking of flights
Facilitate daily weather forecast meetings, with the involvement of stakeholders, in order to assess any potential factors that be disruptive to travel plans.
Update Senior Leadership Team, Camp Services and Gatehouse on travel diversions and communicate any delays or interruptions to travel, to affected stakeholders in a timely manner
Work closely with Site Services and Safety Departments to ensure requirements are met for all bussing capacity for standby in Smithers. Track coaches’ journey to/from Smithers as needed, update Charter airline & Camp Services
Ensure that travel system remains accurate by amending routing, seat availability and flight manifests, daily
Assist administrators with their travel bookings as needed, set-up new requestors, process requests, and help them navigate the system to find alternative arrangements when possible
Action emailed travel requests in the booking system in a timely manner
Drug & Alcohol clearance documentation as a requirement to the mine site
Assist with booking commercial flights & hotels as needed
Ability to assist with any travel related emergencies as needed outside of regular working hours
Ongoing involvement in system and travel process updates as the camp continues to increase in room capacity and travel demands escalate
Create and update employee profiles and rosters as advised by the Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Teams
Maintain a high level of service, discretion & continuity to ensure the safe & timely operations through each “travel day”

About you
Qualifications
Grade 12 High school Diploma or GED equivalent
Exceptional Administration skills and ability to learn new systems
Strong MS Office experience, including MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel and Word
Positive, outgoing and easy to approach personality
Work well under pressure and within time restraints
Travel related experience is preferred and FIFO experience an asset
Organization, planning and project management skills
High level of attention to detail, timing and performance
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-starter, able to work well independently as well as within a team
Analytical thinking with strong decision making skills
Understanding of the First Peoples Principles
Dealing with different and challenging situations
Identify Safety related concerns
In depth analytical skills with a creative outlook for successful problem solving
