Our Brucejack operation is now recruiting for a Warehouse Operations Superintendent with a competitive base salary between $150,000 to $165,000 dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications with an additional short-term incentive of 20% and long-term incentive at 15%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies with consideration to internal equity.

The Warehousing Operations Superintendent will administer and oversee the warehousing functions to ensure all warehouse activities are conducted in accordance with set out processes, procedures, and internal guidelines under the direction of the Surface Operations Manager and coordination with the Warehouse Supervisors.  The Warehouse Operations Superintendent will demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership to safety and safe working environment.  The Warehouse Operations Superintendent is responsible for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operational control of the Brucejack warehouse and associated logistics.

Perform the following duties with safety being the number one priority:

  • Leadership of the Brucejack warehouse team, inclusive of people development and performance management.  Provide the basis for the development of a safe and competent workforce by organising, training, development, and performance management of members of the warehouse work group.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of Brucejack warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to maintain the warehouse in a productive, and cost-effective manner.
  • Collect, approve, and input timecards to monitor / pre-approve overtime, absence, and attendance.
  • Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Utilizes effective judgment by weighing various tangible and intangible factors affecting material logistics and expediting, storage and inventory control maintenance, and/or property utilized.
  • Genuine cooperation with other departments to achieve uniformity of policy application across the site in order to meet company objectives.
  • Ensure all materials and resources are received safely and accounted for through proper delivery and storage practices, and procedures.
  • Actively participate in inventory management through accurate daily cycle counts, delivery of materials, and distribution of inventory items.
  • Ensures safe and clean work environment by warehouse and staging areas (including keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintaining clean shipping supply area) complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Supervises inventory issuing by ensuring requested items for maintenance work orders are processed and delivered in accordance with the procedures.
  • Supervise issuance of inventory items from over-the-counter requests by ensuring issue slips are properly filled out, coded, and entered in SAP on a timely basis.
  • Identify inventory shortages or excessive usage and reports to the Site Mine Controller.
  • Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to issues, receiving. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives, department, and company goals.
  • Develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification, and retrieval, as well as comply with company’s internal controls around inventory management.
  • Ensures Brucejack Warehouse staff maintains accurate warehouse and shipping records to accommodate yearly audit requests.
  • Effective leadership skills, as well as interpersonal, problem solving and outstanding math skills to recognize, correct and inform others when areas in the warehouse are not in compliance with policy or processes.

About You:

We are seeking candidates who possess a Red Seal Parts Technician certification or successful completion of a related Degree or Diploma with a minimum ten (10) years of related industry experience in warehousing, materials and/or inventory management. A minimum of five (5) years' experience within a leadership position will also be required to be successful for this position. 

Position requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Proficiency in SAP software for warehouse operations is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required.
  • PMP or CSCMP certifications are strong assets to have.
  • Six Sigma training or certification considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency with computers, particularly database management
  • Outstanding mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker requiring little or no supervision.
  • Exhibits honest and ethical behavior, being careful to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
  • Ability to record and maintain daily records.
  • Ability to effectively manage stress.
  • Strong skills in time management, performance management, and decision-making.
  • Cross-cultural awareness, with an understanding and sensitivity to the challenges associated with differences in cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Deliver Results – Completes tasks and takes accountability for own actions achieving excellence in customer service.
  • Personal Awareness – Understands how own behaviors and actions impacts others.

  • WHMIS knowledge would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license required.

  • Work at remote location (Brucejack Site) on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical screening.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
  • Be able to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shifts.
  • Able to work in areas of extreme weather conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters with the team.
